For use with 9MM XD & XD(M) Compatible barrels, the steel PistolGear TIKI Compensator is an excellent accessory for USPSA Open competitors, Steel shooters or those just looking to reduce both muzzle rise/flip as well as felt recoil. Our testing, as shown in the below video, shows that muzzle flip was cut in half and the compensator auto-resets making follow up shots faster. Thread size: 1/2 x 28". Designed to fit suppressor barrel with appropriate threads.
Remember, in order for a compensator to work correctly, you should use higher pressure ammunition. If you don't, you will get little benefit of the compensator and/or your pistol will not cycle correctly. The heavier steel compensator will require ammunition that's at least 155K PF using an 11 lb recoil spring.
We also recommend you use the lightest recoil spring you can find for your pistol as well. For the XDM, we recommend the use of our SP 1911/XDM stainless guiderod that will allow the wide range of 1911 springs to run your gun.
Fitting: If you are the type that wants little to no gap between the end of the slide and the compensator, fitting can be down with a benchtop sander, bench grinder, flat hand file and/or emery paper (assuming you don't have access to a mill). The tool(s) required will depend on how much gap you want to remove. Go slow, as you cannot put material back - take your time!!
